The International Orchid Show celebrated its 62nd Anniversary at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara. It attracted more than 5000 visitors. The show occurred on March 16-18, 2007. The Orchid Society of Santa Barbara hosted the Fall Orchid Show for 2006 at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History at 2559 Puesta del Sol Road in Santa Barbara. Many flowering orchid plants were on display from members, other orchid societies and commercial growers. The shows included both Society judging and AOS judging of awarded plants of special merit. Several vendors were present selling plants and growing supplies. The Society also sells plants to raise funds for activities and for administrative needs. Lectures and demonstrations are given during the weekend show. Museum admission includes admission to Orchid Show.

The Paphiopedilum Guild - Special Event in Morro Bay (January 2005)
The Paphiopedilum Guild was founded about 20 years ago by Norris Powell. His vision was to have a two day Guild meeting once a year for Paphiopedilum-oriented people. It costs $25 for a life membership in the Guild. It meets for two days once a year. It usually consists of a slate of 5 to 8 speakers during the two days. Memberships are worldwide. They meet and exchange thoughts and information from the previous year. This year, there were 3 hours of great dinnertime conversation about paphiopedilums took place among Norito Hasegawa, Don Brown, Frank Methmann, Bill Robson, Mr. Kao from Taiwan, James Fang from Hawaii, Sam Tsui from Illinois previously from Hong Kong).
The Fascination of Orchids Show was held in Costa Mesa, in the Crystal Court Mall which is 3 stories high. It is reputed to be the largest orchid show in the U.S.A.
